«Etherforest» captures the essence of the immersive forest experience in a video installation, inviting viewers to explore a digital landscape filledwith magic and charm. The evocative name combines the concept of «forest» with the term «ether,» which can be associated with the digital world and technology. This fusion of the natural and the digital creates a mystical and poetic atmosphere for this multimedia artwork.

Combining Data from Three Sources:

«Etherforest» is a video installation that combines data from three different sources:

1 - Real Forests: Point clouds obtained by 3D laser scanners used in topography (LIDAR).

2 - Artificial Intelligence: Images recreated with the same aesthetic as the LIDAR data.

3 - Miniature Forest Models: Data obtained from miniature forest models made with recycled organic biomaterials.

Hace unas semanas fui convocado por @chandon_ar y mi querido Gonzalo Solimano @gsolimano , Director de Artlab, y en el rol de curador del Festival Chandon Artground 2023, para llevar tres de mis obras de arte digital al escenario principal del evento. El desafío era cubrir todo el espacio con una proyección envolvente de 50 metros de largo.

La resolución final del video fue enorme 9880 × 928 píxeles. Adapté mis obras a ese formato y desarrolle una nueva, PAISAJE HASTA AI, para la ocasión. Contamos con la ayuda de @sasamieventos y sus notables técnicos para la misión en el montaje de las pantallas, los proyectores y la calibración de toda la instalación. La tecnología AI para el escalado del video y el desarrollo de una de las obras fue fundamental.

Sebastian Seifert (Buenos Aires, Argentina) es artista multimedia y productor de música electrónica. Vive y trabaja entre Barcelona y Buenos Aires. Su carrera se ha desarrollado en los puntos de convergencia interdisciplinarios manteniendo las poéticas electrónicas digitales como soporte, concepto y formato de sus producciones. En su obras conviven mundos y paisajes digitales, interiores, ancestrales y fantásticos junto con imágenes y animaciones nacidas del código, la aleatoriedad, la inteligencia artificial y la búsqueda interior. En esta videoinstalación nos invita a visitar tres de sus últimas obras digitales : Portales (2023), Fraktalia (2022/23) y Paisaje hasta AI (2023).

Cerrando poco a poco este año 2023, haciendo balance de algunos proyectos que pasaron. Hace algunas semanas atrás fui convocado por @artlabpro y @jagermeister_ar a realizar una serie de obras de arte digital en formato NFT, para el evento Equinoccio. Tomando el bosque como punto de partida, realicé las obras reflejando en este entorno cada estación del año. 🌳🌳🌳🦌

Etherbosque videoinstalación (2023)

La videoinstalación Etherbosque se basa en la creación de una realidad multimedia, donde el mundo físico y el mundo virtual convergen en una experiencia sinérgica. Utilizando tecnología LiDAR y escáneres láser, se han recopilado datos tridimensionales precisos del bosque, y de maquetas de bosques en miniatura realizadas con biomateriales; capturando no solo su forma y estructura, sino también su energía vital invisible a simple vista. Esta fusión de tecnología y naturaleza da como resultado una nueva forma de cartografía, donde la realidad física y la realidad digital se superponen, creando un espacio liminal donde los límites se desdibujan.

A medida que exploramos el bosque digital, nos sumergimos en un mundo en el que la linealidad del tiempo y el espacio se disuelve. Aquí, los árboles se convierten en guardianes de memorias ancestrales, testigos silenciosos de la evolución y la transformación. Cada hoja, cada sombra proyectada se convierte en un verso poético que habla de la interconexión de todas las cosas. En esta obra, nos adentramos en la dicotomía entre la naturaleza y la tecnología, descubriendo que no son entidades opuestas, sino complementarias. El bosque digital se convierte en un espacio sagrado, donde el lenguaje de los algoritmos dialoga con la sabiduría de la naturaleza, y la estética de los datos se encuentra con la belleza orgánica.

La semana pasada participé del @bafweek_oficial, realizando una serie de obras de arte digital para @lovelydenim en colaboración con Artlab para el lanzamiento de su nueva colección. Hice unos cianotipos digitales con codigos QR de realidad aumentada. Una videoinstalacion y piezas diversas en video para el mapping y el desfile. La consigna fue tomar la temática de la "Blue Night" de lanzamiento como paleta de color principal para todas la obras que desarrolle. Muchas Gracias @lovelydenim y @artlabpro por la confianza en mi trabajo.

I made some digital cyanotypes with augmented reality QR codes. A video installation and various video pieces for the mapping and the parade.
